Was IPhone 4 rushed to release?

I think the answer to that question is yes. I waited in line last Thursday on Launch day just to receive my awesome new toy. I was so excited. First off, I can say that the battery does not seem any better than my 3g. I still have to charge the thing every day-- just like my old one. Secondly, reception sucks even though I am getting full bars, 3g and I am right handed and I even bought a bumper case for 29.99. The call quality is not what it was on my 3g and I randomly drop connection to the internet for no reason-- I would say I have about an 80% failure rate for browsing over a 3g connection. Also it was noted today in the tech news-- Apple is looking for new Antennae engineers. LOL. Were the other ones canned? I don't think this product got alot of QA time and now Apple is paying for that.

Retro Woody Cell Phone circa 1977

Check out an artist's rendition of the woody cell phone circa 1977. Oh this brings back some memories when everything that was cool had at least some wood looking (plastic?) on it. LOL Those were the days.http://gizmodo.com/5568361/artist-reimagines-1977-using-21rst-century-technology

Another step taken to true artifical intelligence

Hal- Are you there Hal? Another sure footed step has been taken towards true artificial intelligence. IBM has developed a new system code named "Watson", which is a computer that is a "jeopardy computer". Watson has been loaded with information including algorithms that allows it to answer jeopardy type questions without the assistance of the internet. Basically when queried, Watson using the facts that have been loaded into it along with the algorithms to answer the submitted question with a ranking percentage as to the likely answer. Watson has been under development for 3 years and is considered a "super computer".

Oh and Watson can understand natural language, which is also a huge jump ahead as presumably, when queried, Watson would first have to parse the question into native machine language which takes a huge amount of resources (reference the parsing of Visual Basic for example). Then Watson needs to shoot the machine language through the algorithms to determine which areas should be accessed for relevant information and then rank the answer with percentage (which would take huge amounts of resources again as the machine power needed to crunch multiple answers with percentages would be huge).

Where is my robot maid??

Windows Live-- Now gussied up with Skydrive and Office Online

Wow Microsoft has really upped the ante making google and google apps look so last year LOL. If you sign in to your hotmail/msn account, you will now see an automatic login to skydrive with 25 gigs of free space. Also you will automatically get access to Office online for free, in which you can share documents between any two computers downloading and editing and uploading when you are done. This is cloud computing at its best! For once (OK maybe twice this year with Windows 7) I am extremely impressed with Microsoft!

Mac Mini updated to include HDMI

In an interesting note, Apple updated and released the Mac Mini today to include an HDMI port. It seems as if Apple wants to abandon the Apple TV in favor of a similar looking box with much more hardware. Whereas the Apple TV has been the wicked stepchild of the line almost since it's release a few years ago, the Mac Mini has found roots everywhere, including corporate giants such as Ford. The new Mac Mini seems to be poised to take over where Apple TV fell short-- It now includes the above mentioned HDMI port, easier access to the box for memory upgrades that used to be a nightmare, and the power supply lives inside the box instead of a giant power brick that was so last year LOL. I don't know if I will spend almost 700 dollars for a dedicated box for the TV, but if I win the lottery-- I might :)
