Laser Technology used to map Ancient Maya City

Cited as the latest in a revolution is technology using lasers strapped to a plane and flown back and forth across the jungle to "see" beneath the trees and to see long covered and overgrown pyramids. Caracol, which is in the Belize lowlands, was long rumored to be an ancient Maya site, but evidence was hard to come by as the area was so covered by trees and other vegetation. Traditional mapping technologies do not work in this type of environment as the tree lines are so thick. This new technology will revolutionize archeology much as Carbon 14 dating did in the last generation. This type of mapping yields a 3D view of the landscape instead of a regular 2D view.

Time travel will one day be possible says Stephen Hawking

Steven Hawking has been quiet until now: He said that he was afraid of being labeled a crank by other scientists-- HELLO the man is Steven Hawking-- the Einstein of our age??!! He decided to come out now and make a prediction that time travel will be indeed possible when our space craft engineering is able to keep up. If a spacecraft is able to travel fast enough ( 650 million miles per hour) that will be equivalent to 1 year on Earth. He didn't say anything-- at least in this article-- about traveling to the past-- assuming this is correct-- we can only travel to the future.Back to the Future!
